If you are new to the Lexington area, you may request an application for membership without a sponsor. Our Membership Director will meet with you and arrange to introduce you to the membership.
1. Nomination:
Two members (1 Sponsoring and 1 Seconding) nominate a candidate and submit a written letter of recommendation. The Sponsor will guide you through the membership process and will act as your liaison with the Club. 1 Sponsor and 1 Seconding member must nominate Nonresident candidates. Your Sponsor should be well acquainted with you.
2. Application:
You must complete the written application for membership and submit the additional documents requested to the Membership Office.
3. Notice to Membership:
While your nomination is being considered, members are asked to provide any information, objections or support that could impact your nomination.
4. Review of References:
Your Sponsor will be contacted by the Membership Committee to further explore their knowledge of your background and character. This step is intended to ensure that you are known to your Sponsor and that you fully understand your responsibilities as a member.
5. Offer of Membership:
Upon approval of the Board of Directors, you will be invited to meet with the Membership Director to complete any remaining paperwork and to remit any required fees. With the completion of this final step, you are now a member of Lexington Golf & Country Club and entitled to all the benefits of membership. The time frame in which these seven steps can be completed may vary.
