Lexington Golf and Country Club, chartered on March 31, 1902, is the second oldest club in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The original 9 hole course was sold in 1935 and is now the Fairwinds subdivision off Alum Springs Road.

The Club purchased Tri-Brook Farm with 98 acres in 1930 and constructed a nine-green, 18-tee course that was used until 1969. Sixty more acres were acquired in 1966 and the old course was slated to be plowed under to construct the 18-hole course known by its reputation for excellence as “The Jewel of the Valley.” The course was designed by Ellis Maples, of Pinehurst fame, and Ed Seay, a leading architect for Arnold Palmer. The course was completed in 1971.

In the years between 1954, when the club house was built, and the present the club has continued to expand and improve the facilities and grounds for the enjoyment of our members and guests.
